Bangkok

One of the most vibrant and fascinating cities in South East Asia, Bangkok offers luxury hotels, glittering temples, colourful markets, hospitable people, great shopping and exotic nightlife. Of course we know you're going for the exotic nightlife, but don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in BBK's culture and history. You can relax with a traditional Thai massage, stay in a wonderful hotel, eat at the finest restaurants...and then head to the clubs for a night on the town you'll never forget. It's all in Bangkok.

Bangkok's nightlife has a reputation for being wild and rowdy. But at the same time, it's relaxed, safe and enjoyable. Rapidly establishing itself as Asia's capital of cool, Bangkok's diverse nightlife scenes feature everything from excellent live music, to good jazz clubs, ultra cool bars, exuberant dance venues and great restaurants, and go far beyond its once upon a time sleazy and naughty image. Nana Entertainment Plaza is internationally known for its bar scene.

Notorious places like Patpong continue to attract heaps of curious tourists to the numerous neon-lit girly bars, while its adjacent night markets selling clothes, souvenirs, DVDs, CDs, and counterfeit watches and handbags are just as popular. But beyond souvenir shopping and bar hopping, Bangkok offers a much wider range of sophisticated entertainment such as traditional performances. The clubs to check out include King's Castle 3, Patpong Rd, and Cascade Bar, 4th floor, and Obsession Bar, 3rd floor, Nana Plaza. For an excellent review of ladyboy bars in Bangkok, see The Ladyboy Bars of Bangkok.

Get ready to explore and you'll be surprised at the abundance of things to do after night falls! Most spots are easily accessible by either BTS (Skytrain) or MRT (Underground).

Pattaya

Welcome to Patta-Yai!, the resort's newest and soon to be most comprehensive guide to the city of fun! Here, you will find information about the best the world-famous city has to offer, from the finest bars to the greatest restaurants. Pattaya is Thailand's number one beach destination and more than a million tourists visit each year to share in the hot weather, the hot food - and the hot girls!

The Bar Scene

The action is to be found on Walking Street, Second Road, and Soi 6. Check out Calypso Cabaret, Lumiquai Bar Soi Diamond, Hi Boss Bar, Rimoquoi Bar, Jenny Star Bar, Linda Bar, SS Beer Bar, Alcazar Cabaret Show, Tiffanys Cabaret Show, and Showgirl Cabaret.

Phuket

Located approximately 862 kilometers south of Bangkok is Phuket, Thailandís largest island, which is often dubbed as ďthe pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the southĒ. Its natural resources- rocky peninsular, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical in-land forests contribute to making it the Southís wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island and province.

Nestled in the tropical zone off the west coast of the southern part of Thailand in the Andaman Sea and the Indian Ocean, the province covers an area of approximately 543 square kilometers (excluding small islets). It is estimated that Phuket Province covers an area of approximately 590 square kilometers if itís 39 other small islands are included. The islandís total length, from north to south, is estimated at 48.7 kilometers and approximately 21.3 kilometers wide.

Chiang Mai

Like an image in a poem, Chiang Mai is known as the Rose of the North. Graced with stunning natural beauty and unique indigenous cultural identity, Chiang Mai was founded by King Mengrai the Great as the capital of the Lanna Thai kingdom in 1296. With its ancient and colorful history, Chiang Mai is a modern area today, Thailand's second largest city after Bangkok and the economic, communications, cultural and tourism centre of Northern Thailand. It is located about 430 miles from Bangkok, on the Mae Ping River 1000 feet above sea level. A beautiful region surrounded by high mountains, it features national parks rich in flora and fauna.

Sites in Chiang Mai

Visit Inthanon National Park, where you'll find Thailand's highest mountain (8,415 feet) and the beautiful Wachirathan, Siriphum and Mae Pan waterfalls. Here you will also find the Meo and Karen hilltribe settlements. Don't miss Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple, Chiang Mai's most important and visible landmark, which overlooks the city. Not to be missed are the Elephant Camps, riverside enclaves north of Chiang Mai featuring daily shows of elephants at work.

Ah, but you're wondering about the nightlife and bars. Chiang Mai is much more subdued than Nana Plaza in Bangkok, but there are some hot spots to look for, as well as a number of discrete massage parlours which are dedicated to "full service." Bars are found all over the city, but are mostly congregated on either side of the Moat's eastern flank (in the Tapae Gate area), along the Ping River near Nawarat Bridge or in the vicinity of the Night Bazaar. Don't miss Simon Cabaret, known as Thailand's cross-gender extravaganza. Located behind the Rimping Supermarket (next door to the Novotel), Simon Caberet is uniquely Thai. Experience an evening of beautifully slender bodies, exquisite faces, and colourful costumes featuring a cast of ladyboys, gay actors and transsexuals. Whether you're straight or gay, this outrageous permanent performance, which also has a show in Phuket, is a worthwhile evening's entertainment. There are two shows nightly at 19:00 and 21:30.
